Daniel, his wife Betsy and their son's Chandler and Hayden came to Seymour in December 2019. Our motto "Our Family Serving Your Family" is not just a phrase, it's a commitment. Daniel was in Bible College in 1991, the year that his Father passed away. He remembers sitting with the family funeral director and watching him literally minister to their mother during her loss. It was then that he realized that funeral service done right is a ministry in itself. Being in the ministry since he was 18, he quickly merged his love for church ministry and his love for funeral service. Daniel says that it's his love for people that drives his heart to make sure that it's never about funeral "business" but always funeral “service” '. After years of ministry and building on over 25 years of funeral service experience, Daniel and his family purchased what was once called Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre in Seymour, Indiana.
In 2022 after much prayer, he and his family expanded their business into Scott County offering the same love and support to its citizens by purchasing Christensen - Hoagland Family Funeral Home which is Scott County's oldest family owned funeral home.
In June of 2023 the opportunity arose for the family to purchase Winklepleck-Brock Funeral Home in Brownstown, Indiana and we are honored to be able to offer our services to Brownstown, Medora, Vallonia, Freetown and the surrounding area.
Daniel is on the ministry team at The Tabernacle Church, an Ambassador with the Seymour Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Board of Directors for Mental Health America of Jackson County and serves as Deputy Coroner for Jackson County. He enjoys golfing, camping, remodel projects and spending time with his family. His pride and joy is working alongside his wife Betsy and two son's Chandler and Hayden and daughter in law, Meredith in the everyday operations of the Christensen Family Funeral Homes.
Should you ever have a need or a question that he can help you with, please feel free to call.
