William "Bill" Roy Tidd

William “Bill” Roy Tidd, age 70, a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and a resident of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020. He was the son of the late John Tidd and the late Dorothy Tidd.

Bill loved to tell jokes and do his best to make others laugh. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone who needed him. He was very talented with making special projects with batteries and projects with electricity. His kind and compassionate spirit will forever be missed by the many friends he had and each life that he touched in his own special way.

Bill was very proud of his military service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war serving in the 199th Light Infantry Brigade, honorably discharged as a Specialist E4 rank. His service decorations include the Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star, Accommodation Medal with 2 oakleaf clusters, Combat Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal and Silver Star.

Bill is survived by One Son and Two sisters. Two close friends that loved him like family, Bill and Margaret Strong of North Vernon, Indiana and a host of friends and comrades.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre in Seymour, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm with Bro. Brien Stout officiating. Burial will be held at Hayden Cemetery in Hayden, Indiana with full military honors.

Due to COVID restrictions, all funeral and burial services are limited to 25 persons. For those unable to attend, funeral services will be live on the Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre facebook page.
