Wilda McCoskey Meeks passed away peacefully in Roswell GA on September 28 2021. She was 95 years young. She was born on July 8 1926 to Ruth Craig McCoskey and Carl McCoskey in Washington County Indiana. She graduated from Scottsburg High School and Kentucky Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Floyd Napper, Dr. Thomas Hill, Scott County Memorial Hospital, Scott County School District 2 and Scott County Public Health Dept for over 40 years. She always enjoyed each job and the people she worked with. Wilda married Lloyd C Meeks in 1952 and enjoyed traveling to many states and countries. Due to him being in the United States Air Force they lived in Florida, France, Bermuda, Colorado, Texas and California before his retirement in 1969. They then moved back home to Scottsburg Indiana. Lloyd died in 1988. Faith, her belief in God and her strong sense of service have always been very important to Wilda. She was a longstanding member of First Christian Church in Scottsburg and very involved with her Sunday school class and any other group that needed help. The church and Sunday school class were always her second family. She was also past president of American Red Cross, American Cancer Society & American Legion Auxiliary. After living on her own until 90 years old she had to move to an assisted living center in Roswell GA to be closer to her daughters. She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Meeks, mother Ruth Craig McCoskey Garriott, father Carl McCoskey, stepfather Homer Garriott & brother John McCoskey. She is survived by her two daughters Cheryl Habib (Victor) of Roswell GA; Alice Ann Meeks of Ft. Myers FL; two grandchildren Ashley Habib & Drew Habib of Atlanta GA.
