Wanda Lee Williams

Wanda Lee Williams, 83, of Scottsburg Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 8 2023 at her residence with her family and loved ones by her side. She was born April 25 1939 in Owsley County Kentucky, the daughter of the late John Tyler Rowland and the late Sinda Tirey Rowland. She was married to James E Williams, who was the love of her life. Wanda was of the Pentecostal faith and shared her faith with her family and friends. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 20 years as well as a wonderful homemaker. Wanda enjoyed browsing flea markets, camping, motorcycle riding with James in their early years, enjoyed southern cooking-especially making biscuits, fried potatoes, fried cornbread, and peanut butter cookies. She loved coffee and as soon as she arose in the morning she had to have a cup! She loved watching western movies and television soap operas. She could be feisty, however she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother placing family first. Survivors: her husband of over 65 years James E Williams; son Charles E Williams and wife Penny of Scottsburg; grandchildren Loretta Hall, Destinie Williams, Tamara Campbell, Destany Helton; 5 great grandchildren; brother Nathan Rowland of Hamilton OH; sister Nadeene Reid of Hamilton OH. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Lawrence Rowland; sisters Alice Clemons, Lilly Mae Moore, Louise Pace and Glenna Clemons. Pastor Jim Hudson will conduct funeral services Monday, January 16 2023 at Christensen-Hoagland Family Funeral Home, 80 N 1st St., Scottsburg IN. Friends and family may visit Monday, 11am until service time at 1pm, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Scottsburg Cemetery.
