Walter Weddle

Walter Weddle, age 85 of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Seymour Crossing. Born June 26, 1931 in Jackson County, he was the son of John Riley and Stella May (Beavers) Weddle. On October 18, 1952 in Jackson County, he married Edna Mae Bruce, who preceded him in death on September 18, 2014.

Walter spent most of his life in Western Jackson County before moving to Seymour. He was a member of the Heltonville United Methodist Church. Walter retired in 1999 from Seymour Manufacturing after 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on cars, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children, Dorothy Stout of Little York, Wanda (Ron) Arbuckle of Seymour, Patricia Cox of Little York and Walter Wayne “Bud” (Debbie) Weddle of Brownstown; grandchildren, Steven (Joy) Allman, William (Julie) Allman, Peggy (Ron) Persinger, Shannon (Bobby) Skaggs, Robert Cox, Wanda Lynn Bennett, Timothy Weddle, Dustin Weddle, Derek Weddle, Johnny (Rebecca) Reed, Ryan French, Paul (Tangi) French and Tabitha Jones. Walter also leaves behind 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife of almost 62 years; his parents; children, Linda Sue Weddle; and son-in-law, Bobby Cox; and granddaughter, Vanessa Weddle.

Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre conducted by Rev. Steve Allman. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Kurtz Cemetery where there will be full military rites.
