Vivian Woodfill-Stone

Vivian Marie (Schiphorst) Woodfill-Stone, age 82 of Madison, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at The Waters of Clifty Falls. Born August 2, 1932 in Madison, she was the daughter of Louis and Gertrude (Gourley) Schiphorst. Her first husband Robert G. Woodfill whom she married May 22, 1952 preceded her in death on March 27, 1995. She married her second husband Raymond Stone on April 29, 1997. Vivian graduated in 1950 from Central High School and was a member of the Salvation Army Church. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, Eagles Auxiliary, a lifetime member of Girls Scouts, a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Indiana Volunteer Firefighter Association Auxiliary, Women Ministries of the Salvation Army, and the Emergency Disaster Service of the Salvation Army. She worked as a social services worker at the Salvation Army and as a cook at Douglas’ Sandwich Shop. Survivors include her husband, Raymond; children, Donetta Sommer and husband Wayne of Lakeland, FL, Robert G. Woodfill, Jr. and wife Barbara of Farmersville, TX, Ferlin Lee Woodfill and wife Mimi of Madison, Nelda Earls and husband William of Fayetteville, OH, Janet Woodfill of Madison, Deborah Kenworthy and husband David of Madison and Nancy Covey of Solsberry, IN; 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild, sister, Mary Helen Bradley of Indianapolis and her Uncles Donald Gourley of Madison and Ronald Gourley of Yuma, AZ; her fur babies Gizmo and Bentley, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She enjoyed fishing, crafts, reading, games, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and her fur babies. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Robert; brother, Louis D. Schiphorst, Jr and two grandchildren, Rihana and Elektra Woodfill. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30pm on Tuesday, December 23rd at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre, Vail Chapel at 2800 Michigan Road. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. The Ladies of the Moose and the IVFAA will both have services beginning at 7:00pm at the visitation. Burial will follow services on Tuesday at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be made to the Crusade for Children.
