Vickie Charmaine Croquart

September 12, 1953 — April 15, 2025

Seymour

Vickie Charmaine (Lynch) Croquart, a beloved figure whose warmth and kindness illuminated the lives of all who knew her, passed away on April 15, 2025, at the IU Health Community Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on September 12, 1953, in the same town where she would later raise her family, Vickie was a nurturing soul who left an indelible mark on every heart she touched.

A proud 1974 graduate of Seymour High School, Vickie embraced life with a tenacious spirit and an unwavering commitment to love and care for those around her. She possessed a strong will and a genuinely kind heart, traits that endeared her to friends and family alike. Often putting the needs of others before her own, she exemplified a depth of compassion that made her a true friend and confidant.

Vickie's hands were gifted in many ways. Crafting was her passion; sewing, quilting, and making candles became not merely hobbies, but expressions of her love. She would pour her heart into the clothes she crafted and the quilts she stitched, each piece a testament to her artistic spirit. Her affinity for dragonflies mirrored her vivacity and playfulness, much like her cherished relationship with her dogs, who filled her life with joy.

Those lucky enough to gather around her dining table will never forget the delectable delights she lovingly prepared. Vickie's broccoli casserole, round steak with mushroom gravy, and refreshing lemonade pie are culinary treasures that will forever linger in the memories of her family, bringing comfort in her absence. Eating her food was not just about nourishment; it was about connection, warmth, and love shared across the table.

In addition to her dedication to family and creativity, Vickie's legacy continues through her husband, Gregory Croquart Sr., with whom she shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage. Together they raised three remarkable sons: Shawn Petry of Indianapolis, Gregory Croquart II and his wife Natalie of Seymour, and Daniel Croquart and his wife Jessica of Seymour. Each of her eight grandchildren and three great grand children carries a piece of her spirit, reflecting her essence in their laughter and dreams.

Vickie is also survived by her beloved sisters, Angie DeMott of Franklin and Lisa Booker with her husband Kenny of New Albany. They, too, honor her memory and the bond forged in shared childhood experiences and lifelong companionship.

She now joins her parents, Ray Lynch and Barbara Jean Allen Lynch, her granddaughter, Jessica Petry, and her maternal grandparents, Madge and Ora Allen that she loved dearly in eternal rest. Their reunion brings solace to a family mourning the loss of such a spirited matriarch.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled to be held on April 19, 2025, at Cornerstone Community Church in Seymour, Indiana.
