Verdie Campbell

Verdie Campbell passed away on August 9, 2015 at his home in Seymour, Indiana at the age of 86. Verdie is survived by his wife Wilma Campbell; children - Tom Campbell (Cheryl) of Sacramento, CA., Tony Campbell (Joy) of Greenfield, IN., Lanny Campbell (Patsy), Kelley Elsner (Pete) and Brian Campbell (Deanna) all of Seymour, IN., nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five sisters, one brother and a step-mother. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, five sisters and a grandson. Verdie was born on June 13, 1929 in Bonnyman, KY. to Liza and Charlie Campbell. He married his wife of 65 years, Wilma Trammell, in 1949. He was employed as a foreman at Pantasote Inc. for 33 years until his retirement in 1990. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and viewing nature, especially at the break of day, and enjoyed teaching others how to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Eagles, Masonic Lodge and a founding member of the Jennings Township Conservation Club. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 pm on August 11, 2015 at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre in Seymour, IN., with a memorial service immediately after visitation at 7:00 pm. David Woods will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Verdie’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice, St. Jude’s Hospital or The New Beginnings Church.
