Steven L. Brown

Steven L. Brown, age 67 of Seymour, passed away at 9:58pm Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Seymour Crossing. Born February 25, 1946 in Seymour, he was the son of Anthony and Viola (Williams) Brown. He attended Salem High School and then moved to Seymour High School his senior year graduating in 1964. Steve then went into the U.S. Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam War staying in service until 1972. After several years of employment, he retired from Cosco. An avid fisherman, Steve also enjoyed hunting ginseng. He also loved to help people and spend time with his family and friends. His two granddaughters were the light of his life. Steve is survived by his daughter, Christy Riley of Seymour; a sister Betty (Ron) McCleery of Seymour; two granddaughters, Rachelle and Lindsay Tinsley of Seymour; two nieces, Cindy (Bill) Rinehart and Angie (Jay) Stoner. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Ron McCleery, Jr. Visitation will be Friday, February 7th, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and from 10:00am until service time on Saturday at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre at 311 Holiday Square Road, Seymour. Pastors Bill Weaver and Scott Brown will conduct service at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Mt. Eden Cemetery in Washington County with full military graveside honors. Memorials can be made to a scholarship fund for the granddaughters in care of the funeral home.
