Sharon Kay Waggoner, age 69 of Freetown, passed away at 6:30pm on August 2, 2013 at her home. Born March 4, 1944 in Brownstown, she was the daughter of Leonard “Newt” and Edith (Lewis) Browning. On February 9, 1963, she married David Waggoner at the Pleasant Grove Church in Brownstown. She was a member of the Freetown United Methodist Church where she was secretary and managed church finances. Sharon retired from the Cummins Engine Company after 30 years as a secretary in the finance department. Sharon also worked with her husband and son in their landscaping business. She enjoyed sewing, playing dulcimer, gardening, taking grandkids shopping and working on their 4-H projects. Sharon also showed her Shih Tzu dogs and won awards showing them. Sharon enjoyed going to Gatlinburg and was even able to go with her girlfriends a few weeks ago and put her feet in the creek one last time. Survivors include her husband, David and their son Ike Waggoner and his wife Vera from Seymour. Sharon also had two grandkids, Victoria Autenrieb and Krystal Waggoner; two great-grandkids, Karson and Khloe Sparrow; a brother Jim Browning and his wife Pam; a sister-in-law Nellie Waggoner; brother-in-law Ronnie Waggoner, Nieces and nephews, Lana Dickmeyer, Gary Ping, Roger and Janie Waggoner, Cindy Waggoner and Yvonne and Mark Willman. Sharon also left behind her three Shih Tzu children, Snappy, Cocoa, Smoke. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Phyllis Ping and a brother-in-law Kenneth Waggoner. Friends and family can gather on Saturday, August 17th from 11:00am until 3:00pm at the Freetown Funeral Chapel at 4595 W. 1st Street in Freetown. Pastor David Ison will conduct a memorial service at 3:00pm Saturday, August 17th at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Freetown United Methodist Church, the Don & Dana Myers Cancer Center or to the Hospice of Schneck Medical Center.
