Shannon Lea Loper, age 59, a native of Seymour, Indiana and a resident of Freetown, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown, Indiana.
She was born on May 18, 1964 to the late Steven Loper and Phyllis (Frazier) Loper.
Shannon was a member of the Freetown Community Church where she was loved dearly by her church family. She loved Jesus and believed in him with all her heart. She was not only loved by her church family, but also the entire community of Freetown took her into their hearts. She was fortunate to have a loving extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was also a member of the Pershing Township Lion's Club where she served as a tail twister. Shannon had a zest for life. She loved everyone and was loved in return by many people. She never met a stranger and her family was amazed that everywhere they went, they ran into people that knew Shannon. When her niece and nephew came into her life, they became her new focus and objects of her affection. She absolutely adored them. Recently, she became a great aunt and she was so proud of little Cooper. She is survived by her mother, Phyllis Loper of Freetown, Indiana, one brother, Shane Loper and his wife Becky of Freetown, Indiana. One niece, Caitlyn Loper and her fiancé Keaton Weber and one nephew, Isaiah Loper. One great nephew, Cooper Weber.
She was preceded in death by her father, maternal grandparents, Pat and Alva Frazier and paternal grandparents, Orville and Anabel Loper.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Christensen Family Funeral Home - Winklepleck Chapel in Brownstown. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest at Freetown Cemetery.
The family has requested that memorial donations be directed to Pershing Township Lion's Club, ARC of Jackson County, Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary or Freetown Community Church.
