Robert Lee Sons

Robert Lee Sons, age 84 of Seymour, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at his residence. Born August 1, 1931 in Medora, he was the son of Frank “Nick” and Mabel (Shelton) Sons. On January 11, 1953 in Brownstown, he married Betty Aynes.

After high school, Bob served in the United States Army. Bob retired after 35 years from Mitchell and Stark Construction. He was a member of the Labors and Hod Carriers Union in Indiana. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, family cookouts and dinners at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Bob is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Betty of Seymour; children, Mike (Kathy) Sons, Tom (Lois) Sons, Patty Sons, Debbie Sons, Katie Gray, Melissa Johnson and Tina Denton; Bob also had 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Allen Sons; brothers, Clyde, Jack, James, Alvie “Perk”, Morris, Melvin, Bill and Danny; sisters, Lois Benton and Louise Gibson.

Cremation was chosen and no formal services will be held at this time. A family gathering will take place at a future date. Memorials can be made at the funeral home to the Robert Sons Memorial Fund. Friends can sign the guest book or share a memory at www.WoodlawnFamilyFuneral.com.
