Robert F. "Bob" Lewellen

Robert F. (Bob) Lewellen, age 69 of Seymour, passed away on Monday, August 18th at Schneck Medical Center. Born April 5, 1945, he was the son of Goldie (Sandlin) Powell. On July 9, 1964 in Manchester, KY, he married Mildred Lewis. Retired from Cummins Engine Company, Bob worked as Quality Auditor. After he retired from Cummins he was a contract auditor for Underwriters Laboratories. He was a member of the Seymour Christian Church and former a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Seymour Eagles Club and NRA. Bob enjoyed watching racing and used to race go karts, Dwarf cars and asphalt late models with his son Jason and earlier in life raced at the Brownstown Speedway with his brother in laws. Bob also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play soccer. The family would describe him as having a silent strength being a loving dad with a huge heart. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mildred; son Jason (Amy) Lewellen of Seymour; daughter Robin (Fred) Heckman of Seymour; a brother, Richard (Missy) Powell of Richmond, KY; five grandchildren, Taylor Heckman, Zakary Scott Lewellen, Evan Dover, Luke Dover and Chase Dover; Bob is also survived by his Aunt Lettie Burns of Fairfield, OH. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Trisha, who passed in 1967. Pastor Bill Lockman will conduct service at 3:00pm on Friday, August 22nd at the Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre at 311 Holiday Sq. Rd. in Seymour. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery.
