Robert A. “Bucky” Bennett, age 63 of Madison, passed away at 11:13pm Wednesday, April 30th at the Hanover Health & Rehab with his family and friends singing him home. Born March 7, 1951 in Madison, he was the son of Robert White Bennett and Marjorie Bennett. On November 13, 1971, he married Lynn Bennett who passed on March 9, 2010. Bucky was a member of the St. Johns United Church of Christ as well as a member of the Moose Lodge 765 since 1972. He had worked for the city in various capacities as well as Rotary Lift. Bucky will be remembered as an outdoorsman who loved to fish. He also loved to travel and play cards, but only as long as he could do it with family. Survivors include his companion, Rhonda Bennett-Hill; a brother, William A. (Cindy) Bennett; sister Linda Viernum; Nieces, Swatarra Rosenberg, Brittney Bennett, Bonnie Beach, Sandra McKay, Angela Loos, Jessica Beavers, Heather Berg; Nephews, William Bennett, Jr., Matt Barron, Benjamin Craig, Anthony Beach and Gaylan Craig, Jr. Bucky also had many adopted great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister Naomi Bennett. A Moose service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, May 3rd at the Woodlawn-Vail Funeral Chapel followed by a funeral service conducted by Pastor Mike Straub. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 3:00pm on Saturday, May 3rd at the funeral home. Private burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
