Robert Allen Hall, age 80 of Underwood, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany, Indiana. He was born on March 16, 1943 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of Chester Arnold and Anna Alice (Morgan) Hall. On December 6, 1961, he was united in marriage to Janet Marie (Broady) Hall in Little York, Indiana, and this union was blessed with two sons: Robert Wayne and David Allen. For over thirty-five years, he worked as a propane salesman with Empire Gas. He was a member of the Old Underwood United Methodist Church and currently attended Fairview Christian Church. He was also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), and a former member of the Underwood Fire Department. More than anything, he enjoyed being an amateur Ham Radio Operator, with the call sign KB9NY1.
His life will be cherished by his loving wife of 61 years, Janet Marie of Underwood; his sons: Robert Wayne Hall (Pamela Sue) and David Allen Hall (Tammy Sue), both of Underwood; his brother: Chester Dale (Mary Etta) Hall of Underwood; his sister-in-law: Maxine Hall of Underwood; his grandchildren: George Wayne (Tiffany) Hall of Sellersburg, Indiana, Amber Michelle (Jacob) Bower of Underwood, Anna Alayne (Jonathan Abbott) Hall of Underwood, and Isaac David Hall of Underwood; his great grandchildren: Shane Joshua Bower of Underwood and Sophia Josephine Hall of Sellersburg, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: George Wayne Hall and Carl Elvin Hall and his sister: Delores Beare.
Brother Don Watts and Brother Andy Watts will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the Fairview Christian Church in Underwood, Indiana. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Fairview Christian Church and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday. Robert will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery in Underwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Contributions can be made at the funeral home or the church.
