Raymond "Sonny" Lowe

Raymond “Sonny” Lowe Jr., 79 of Seymour, Indiana passed away Monday, August 10, 2020 at IU Methodist Hospital. Born February 2, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana he was the son of Raymond G. Sr. and Rosalie (Harris) Lowe.
Sonny was a faithful member of Easyville Church of Jesus Christ. He loved his church and his church buddies, after 30 years of service Sonny retired from Cummins Engine Co. He spent his winters in Florida where he enjoyed deep sea fishing. He loved mowing his yard, going for drives and telling a good story. Sonny never met a stranger and he touched so many lives. Everyone knew him as “Papaw” and they all loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ruth (Sexton) Lowe of Seymour; his daughter Angela Lowe-Tatom and her fiancé Rob Norris of Seymour; his son, David “Russ” Lowe of Englewood, Florida; his sisters, Rosemary Owens and her husband David of Franklin, Indiana and Ann Lowe Rosebery of Seymour; his brother Larry Lowe of Spraytown; grandchildren, Stephanie Beem and her husband Greg, Samantha Bannister and her husband Chris, Nick Lowe, Jake Lowe and Kaleb Cassetty; his daughter in law Morgan Lowe of Medora; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Martin Ray Lowe; his sister, Betty Edith Lowe and his brothers, Tommy Lowe and Andy Lowe.
Sister Jean Pogue will conduct funeral services at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Woodlawn Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Spraytown Cemetery. Visitation for Sonny will be on Saturday from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Funeral services will be livestreamed on Woodlawn’s Facebook page for those who cannot attend.
