Ray D. Bennett

Ray Darrell Bennett, age 77 of Seymour, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Seymour Crossing. Born May 1, 1939 in Brownstown, he was the son of John and Margaret (Lucas) Bennett.
Ray was a graduate of Brownstown High School where he played basketball. After school, he joined the U.S. Army and served four years. Ray was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed listening to music, hunting, reading and watching sports, especially basketball.
Survivors include his children, Curtis (Debbie) Copeland of Seymour; Susanne DeRosier of MI and Lori (Richard, Jr.) Robbins-Deaton of Reddington. He also had a brother, Ron (Caron) Bennett of MI; grandchildren, Sonni (Blake) Robbins, Jera (Casey) Shelton, Shelbi Skonieczny, Jesse Skonieczny, Casey Skonieczny, Joshua Copeland and Alisha Copeland. Ray also had numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
No formal services are planned at this time. Cremation has been chosen. Memorials can be made to the Ray Bennett Memorial Fund at the funeral home or on Ray’s obit on the website. Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre has been entrusted with the arrangements.
