Ramona Kay Blackburn

Ramona K. Blackburn, age 64 of Seymour, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Born December 19, 1951 in Seymour, she was the daughter of Marvin and Marian (Briner) Boicourt. On June 9, 1972 at First Marion Baptist Church in Commiskey, she married James E. Blackburn.

Ramona was a faithful Christian and was a member of New Hope Church of Acme. She taught Sunday School, women’s Bible study and led worship at the church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, singing, playing clarinet, spending time outdoors and even hunting. Ramona will be remembered as someone who made a difference in people’s lives and for those that knew her, they were truly blessed.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Jim Blackburn; daughters, Renee’ Wesley of Crothersville and Holly (Joseph) Blackburn-Randall of Lake St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Zechariah Wesley, Josiah Wesley, Addy Randall, Jaxson Randall, Faith Randall and Calla Randall; brother Randall (Robin) Boicourt of Seymour. Ramona also leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents and an unborn infant.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at the funeral home and then on Monday from 9:00am until service time. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Memorials can be made at the funeral home to Joyce Meyer Ministries.
