Quincey Coffey

May 4, 1999 — September 27, 2020

Rev. Quincey James Lee Coffey, age 21, a native of Columbus, Indiana and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed from this life on Sunday, September 27, 2020 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was the son of Lorne Coffey and his wife Elaine Coffey and Kelly McKee Zody of Columbus, Indiana.
Quincey will forever be remembered as an outgoing, vibrant, beautifully spirited man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed swimming, cliff diving, the Chicago Cubs and was an avid Spider Man fan. He loved reading and finding ways to learn and constantly feed his mind. Quincey was a strong man for so many, especially his little sisters. He was driven with a passion to know all he could about God’s word, Biblical Doctrine and the ways of God.
In 2015, Quincey found himself face to face with his own eternity and through an incredible testimony gave his life to Jesus Christ. He was a senior at Indiana Bible College in Indianapolis, Indiana and was scheduled to graduate this year with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies. He followed the words of Paul when he wrote in II Timothy 2:15, “Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of Truth.”
Church was his life, he was a member of The Tabernacle in Seymour, Indiana where he was actively involved in the Youth World, the block party committee and choir. He had the heart of a servant, telling his Pastor recently, “Pastor, I am not looking for a title, I just want to serve.”
Quincey would want everyone to know Jesus Christ, he would want you to experience the life transforming power of the Gospel. He would want everyone to know that Scripture declares in I John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God”.
Quincey is survived by his parents, one brother, Thomas Gene Caldwell of Seymour, Indiana. Three sisters, Credence Coffey of Seymour, Indiana, Kindred Zody of Columbus, Indiana and Karma Zody of Columbus, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his Paternal Great Grandmother, Ernestine Lambert and Maternal Great Grandmother, Helen Rice.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at The Tabernacle located at 301 Indianapolis Avenue in Seymour, Indiana.
