Philip Cummings, age 66, a native of Seymour, Indiana and a resident of Medora, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at IU Health Methodist. He was the son of the late Eugene Cummings and the late Margie (Gilbert) Cummings. He was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church and an avid supporter of Southern Indiana 4 Wheel Drive Club. He worked for 20 years as a Forest Ranger and later worked for and continued logging with Mark Morin Logging Inc.
He enjoyed flea markets, auctions and was very creative with woodworking. Philip loved the woods and being in the woods was his happy place. He was quirky, caring, set in his ways and when he would put his mind to it, he could do anything. He was unpredictable and full of surprises and if you needed anything he would help any way that he could.
He is survived by his son, Wesley M. Cummings and his wife Morgan of Medora, Indiana and one daughter, Zoe Barnett of Cynthiana, Kentucky. One sister, Tracey Champ and her husband Troy of Iron Ridge, Wisconsin. Six grandchildren, Tucker, Madison, Araylyn, Ellena, Lolah Belle and Amellia. He is also survived by many members of his extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Steve Cummings and Randy Cummings, one nephew, Cole Cummings and two infant nieces.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Medora, Indiana with funeral services beginning at 7:30 PM. Pastor Jason Cooper will officiate.
