Paul W Schurman

Paul William Schurman Sr., age 69 of Seymour, passed away at 3:38am Saturday morning, April 19th at his home. Born August 15, 1944 in Seymour, he was the son of Edward and Clara Waldkoetter Schurman. On November 23, 1964 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, he married Joyce Franklin. He was retired as a Systems Operations Manager from Dorel Juvenile, formerly known as Cosco, after 28 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked 20 years at Cummins Engine Company as a computer programmer. Paul was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a 1962 graduate of Seymour High School. He loved to travel, enjoyed doing carpentry work and antique cars. He will be remembered by his family as someone who valued family. He is survived by his wife, Joyce “Jodie” of Seymour; two sons, Paul William Schurman, Jr. and his wife Lori of Sacramento, CA and Shannon Dale Schurman and his wife Laura of Savannah, GA. Paul had five grandchildren, Paul William III, Hannah Nichole, Carson Dale, Tanner and Lauren Leslie; Also surviving are three sisters in law, Carol Franklin, Brenda Howard and Linda Gilbert; and two brothers in law, Phillip Franklin and his wife Diane and also Bert Held. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Glen and Raymond Schurman; sister Helen Koerner; two brothers in law, Mike “Sonny “ Franklin and William McKim; one sister in law, Linda Held. Memorials can be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hospice of Schneck Medical Center, or to Don & Dana Cancer Center. A time of gathering will take place from 6:30pm until 7:30pm. The Life Celebration will start at 7:30pm with a reception to follow the service.
