Oliver Garrett, age 93, a native of Harlan, Kentucky and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed from this life on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Meadowview Health and Rehab in Salem, Indiana. He was born on November 5, 1927 to the late Lawrence Garret and the late Edith (Collins) Garrett. Oliver served his Country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He loved fishing, hunting, Gibson guitars and loved to wheel and deal at flea markets and rummage sales. He had a wonderful sense of humor and liked things his way. He was a caring, giving man who was strong willed and unique.
Oliver is survived by his son, Pat Garrett of Seymour, Indiana, a daughter, Peggy Wilkerson of Seymour, Indiana and a sister, Jackie Koehler of Ohio. Six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Joy Helen Bragg and Patricia Garrett Shalto. One brother, Bob Garrett and his beloved fur baby, “B.J.”.
The family will receive friends on Thursday July, 8, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
