Norma Jean (Phillips) Stevenson

January 22, 1942 — July 13, 2021

Norma Jean (Phillips) Stevenson, age 79, a native of Harrisburg, Illinois and a resident of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at her residence. She was born on January 22, 1942 to the late Sam Lee Phillips and the late Cleasta (Paul) Phillips. She was a member of Bethel AME church.
Norma loved fishing, art, painting, family gatherings and her beloved dog “Sashsa”. She was a sweet, opinionated and feisty lady that also loved travelling, gardening and roses. She was a wonderful cook and the family will forever treasure the memories of her fried apple pies, BBQ ribs, yeast rolls and fried chicken.
She is survived by her two sons, Billy Joe Stevenson Jr. of Morristown, Indiana and Craig Stevenson of Seymour, Indiana. One daughter, Terry Shelton and her husband Irvin of Seymour, Indiana. One brother, Charles Phillips of Los Angeles, California and one sister, Idessia Williams of Los Angeles. Six grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of over 55 years, Billy Joe Stevenson Sr., two brothers, Sam Phillips and Laverne Phillips, one sister, Teenie Roberts.
