Nathaniel "Nate" Vance Hill

October 31, 1987 — March 15, 2018

Nathaniel Vance “Nate” Hill, age 30 of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Schneck Medical Center. Born October 31, 1987 in Seymour, he was the son of Phillip P. Hill and Christina (Whitson) Hill.

Nate graduated from Seymour High School in 2006 and then entered the U.S. Army in July of 2006. He served in the 101st Airborne DN, 2nd BCT, 1-502 Infantry REGT., Delta Co., at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. Nate did two combat tours, one in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. When Nate discharged from the Army in May of 2012, he had been awarded a Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Pathfinder, Airborne, Air Assault, Ranger School, Bronze Star Medal, 2 Army Commendation medals and 2 Army Achievement Medals.

Survivors include his parents; 8 year old son, Kaleb Hill of Clarksville, TN; siblings, Lindzi (Joe) Smith of Concord, N.C., Tyler Hill and Lucas Hill both of Seymour; and paternal grandparents, Bode and Carol Hill of Seymour. Nate also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nate was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Connie Runge.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Pastor Ralph Blomenberg will conduct service at 10:00am on Wednesday at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison followed by military honors. Memorials can be made at the funeral home to the Nate Hill Memorial Fund or to the Disabled American Veterans.
