Nancy Jean Pifer, 76, of Seymour, beloved mother and best mamaw, passed away Sunday morning, April 18, 2021, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.
Born Nov. 6, 1944, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Lincoln and Minnie Boknecht Disney, both of whom preceded her in death.
She married Charles A. Pifer on June 11, 1966, at Reddington Christian Church, and he preceded her in death in 2018. They had two children, Brian Pifer, who survives and Sheila Woodard, who preceded her in death in 2015.
Nancy was a recently baptized member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and had worked for 14 years as a cook at the former Jackson Park Nursing Home.
She loved shopping, going to car shows, cooking, reading and her dog, Lilly, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was the person everyone went to and the glue that kept the family together. She just wanted everyone to be happy.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Jim Disney and two sisters, Shirley Miller and Lois Disney.
Survivors include son, Brian Pifer; grandchildren, Katie (Tyler) Jenkins, Charlie (Amy) Pifer and Sarah (Shannon) Ault; great-grandchildren, Matthew Dean, Dawson, Clyde, Charlie Mae, Morgan, Brian, Samantha, Adam, Paige, Jayden and Charlie; sister, Helen Gonzalez; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Gordon) Pifer and Pam (Roger) Weddel; nieces and nephews and other extended family and many friends.
A private graveside service will be conducted at Reddington Cemetery.
