Morton "Jimmer" Leroy Robbins

October 24, 1934 — December 8, 2024

Seymour

Morton "Jimmer" Leroy Robbins, a cherished figure in the heart of Seymour, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2024, at his residence surrounded by the warmth and love of his beloved family. He entered this world on October 24, 1934, and from those early days, his spirit radiated kindness and generosity—traits that would shape his life and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A proud graduate of Seymour High School in 1952, Jimmer led a life defined not only by his personal achievements but also by his commitment to his country, proudly serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a devoted Christian and served as a Sunday School teacher and was an Associate Pastor at Mountain Baptist Church. He was also a member of Knights of Pythias #60.

Known affectionately as the "produce man," Morton dedicated himself to his garden, cultivating vegetables not just for the joy they brought him, but with a selfless intention—to share them with those in need. His hands, roughened by toil yet gentle in touch, crafted more than just bountiful crops; they built birdhouses that stood as symbols of his passion for nature. Each puzzle he solved, each fishing trip he cherished, and every Cincinnati Reds and Bengals game he followed echoed his quiet spirit, a reminder that joy often lies in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed so much being on a bowling league and a slow pitch softball league where he often played as a catcher and he also loved playing cards with his friends and family.

Despite a life filled with accomplishment, nothing held a candle to the love he harbored for his family. His warmth and generosity extended far beyond his garden; he was a steady rock for his wife, Susan E. Nunn Robbins, whose bond grew stronger over 64 unforgettable years. Together, they cultivated a home brimming with love, a legacy reflected in their two daughters, Mary Guffey and her husband Jerry, and Callie Breeding and her husband James. Each grandchild—Lloyd Robbins Jr. and Cody Breeding with his wife Annelise—brought him immeasurable pride, and his great-grandchildren, Kolton Baughman and Zeppelin Robbins. Two sister's in law, Jennifer Robbins of Brownstown, Indiana and Mary Jackson of Georgia. Multiple nieces and nephews that he thought the world of and his fishing and hunting buddy, Bruce Satterwhite.

Jimmer leaves behind not just the warmth of his spirit but also the invaluable lessons of kindness, humility, and an unwavering commitment to family. He is embraced in memory by his sisters, Nancy Collins, Kathleen Hunnicutt, and Barb Singer, who reflect on their brother's sweetness and his ability to never utter an unkind word.

Though Morton has departed this earthly realm, he reunites with loved ones who passed before him—his father Lloyd Robbins, mother Helen Greene Robbins, son Lloyd Robbins, and brother Lloyd "Steve" Robbins. Four brother's in law, Bobby Jackson, Carl Collins, Darrell Singer and Gary Hunnicutt. Their spirits are forever intertwined, an everlasting bond that transcends time.
