Mildred I. (Allen) Dailey, age 85 of Madison, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born December 25, 1928 in French Lick, Indiana, she was the daughter of Lewis and Josephine (Dewitt) Allen who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Burdine; her second husband, Andrew Dailey; two daughters, Vonda Whitaker and Ruth A. Burdine; one son, Rodger Burdine; one step-daughter, Carolyn Dailey; one step-son, Orville Dailey; one grandson, Donald McCormick; one sister, Wanda Green and one brother, Samuel Allen. Mrs. Dailey had worked at the Conn Organ Company and later owned and operated the Dailey’s Donut Shop, with her husband, Andrew Dailey. She was a member of the North Madison Christian Church and she enjoyed cooking, going to church, making quilts, picnics and she loved life. Survivors include one son, Charles “Chuck” Burdine of Madison; one step-daughter, Anita Vest and her husband, Sunny of Madison; two step-sons, Dennis Dailey and his wife, Denise and Kevin Dailey both of Madison; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Pastor Bob Hicks will be conduct funeral services at the Vail Funeral Chapel, 117 Holt Drive at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 14, 2014 with interment in Kent Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Vail Funeral Chapel, 117 Holt Drive from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, April 13, 2014 and from 10:00 A.M. Monday until time of service. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the North Madison Christian Church. Contribution cards will be available at the Vail Funeral Chapel
