Michael D. Griffin

Michael D. Griffin, age 56 of Freetown, passed away suddenly at home on June 9, 2015. Mike was born in Seymour on March 28, 1959 the son of Frank and Betty (Dean) Griffin. Mike graduated from Seymour High School in 1978 and then completed small engine repair training. He owned and operated G&D Small Engine Repair since 1982 moving from Seymour to Freetown in 1999. He was a member of the Indiana Tractor Pull Association and loved pulling tractors and has several trophies to show his success. He enjoyed watching drag racing as well as science fiction shows on TV. Survivors include his mother Betty of Freetown; brother, Dan (Carol) Griffin of Mitchell; sisters, Carolyn Griffin of Freetown and Jennifer Arnholt of Brownstown; nieces and nephews, Josh (Mechelle) Griffin, Nathaniel Griffin, Michaela Griffin, Paige (Shawn) Williams and their daughter Patience, Matthew and Michael Arnholt. Mike also had several cousins who survive him. Mike was preceded in death by his father and a sister Debbie. Services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 13th at the Freetown Church of Christ. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery on Monday. Memorials can be made to the Mike Griffin Memorial Fund.
