Maurice "Mauri" Fredrick Moenning

Maurice "Mauri" Fredrick Moenning, age 85, a native and resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June, 29, 2023 at Lutheran Community Home. He was born on May 26, 1938 to the late Martin Moenning and the late Clara (Hehmam) Moenning. He was a lifelong faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served his country proudly in the United States Army Reserves.  He was employed by Cummins for over 28 years and was the very first employee hired by Panasote Plastics in Seymour.  Mauri will forever be remembered as a kind hearted, dependable, quiet man that loved life and his family. He loved car racing and farming. Together with his brother, they were the owners of Moenning Brothers Racing and Moenning Brothers Farming. 

He was a beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend to many and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and each life that he touched in his own special way. 

He is survived by his wife, Kaye (Beaman) Shera of Seymour, Indiana, one brother, Willis Moenning and his wife Linda of Seymour, Indiana. One nephew, Schaan LaMaster and his wife Tammy of Seymour, Indiana and one great niece, Alex LaMaster.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth Ellen LaMaster.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, Indiana. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ralph Blomenberg and Pastor James Rodriguez officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with full military honors.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran School, Lutheran Community Home, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or charity of choice.
