Mary E. Groves

Mary E. Groves, age 88 of Madison, passed away on Friday December 20, 2013 at the Jewel House. Born November 7, 1925 in Jefferson County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harry and Emma (Roney) Goldsberry, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul B. Groves on February 11, 2003 and one brother, Paul Goldsberry on May 31, 1997. Mary had worked at the Charlestown Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, Indiana. She was a 1943 graduate Saluda High School and a member of the First Baptist Church and the 55 Plus Club. Mary enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Hoffman of Madison, Cathy (Rick) Hash of Bloomington, IN and Diane (James) Walters of Madison; five grandchildren, Valerie Oldham, Wade Collins, Karen Lucas, Pam Lucas and Tony (Katie) Roberts; six great-grandchildren, Savannah Oldham, Madison Oldham, Bryce Wooten and Emma Wooten, Sarah Roberts and Joseph Collins; one niece and two nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Vail Funeral Chapel at 117 Holt Drive, Madison, Indiana on Monday, December 23rd at 1:00pm. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Springdale Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Kings Daughters Hospice or to the First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
