Marie Ellen (Pifer) Foster

Marie Ellen (Pifer) Foster, age 78, a native of Hichens, Kentucky and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at her residence. She was born on October 7, 1943 to the late Glenn Pifer and the late Fernella (Allman) Pifer. Marie was a Christina by Faith and a member of The Church of God in Seymour. She was known as a "Lady", not fancy, but she had a way about her that made everyone love her. She was serious minded, always spoke her mind and was down to earth. She loved work and had a very high work ethic. For many years she was a cook for the Jennings County High School until at age 41, she decided to pursue her degree in nursing and did so while also being a wife and mother to her two daughters. She graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from The Indiana University Nursing Program. She loved to crochet and macrame' and was very artistic. Above all that she loved in this life, nothing compared to the love she had for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Theodore "Ted" Foster, two daughters, Alisha Archibong and her husband Archie of Aurora, Colorado and Thea Marie Foster of Denver, Colorado. One brother, Gordon Pifer and his wife Brenda of Seymour, Indiana and one sister, Pamela Weddle and her husband Roger of Seymour, Indiana.
Six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles Pifer and Donnie Pifer.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre with funeral services beginning at 12:00 PM with Pastor Tom Woodson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery.
