Mabel R. Washburn

Mabel Ruth Washburn, age 82 of Hanover, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Hanover Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born February 25, 1932 in Ghent, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Cary Addison and Bertha (Webster) Burchfield who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry S. Washburn on September 26, 1985; a son, William Washburn; a granddaughter, Whitney Washburn; sisters, Josephine Adams, Elizabeth Goins, Alice Long and one brother, Floyd Burchfield. Mrs. Washburn retired from Reliance Electric after thirty-four years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and her great-grandkids. Survivors include a sister, June Evelyn Gaylord of Madison; three grandchildren, Kim Popp and her husband, Mike of Hanover, Jennifer Washburn and William Robinson both of Madison; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob Popp, Bill and Julian Robinson and several nieces and nephews.
