Lois M. Rose

Lois Vayhinger Rose, age 97 of Muncie, formerly of Madison, passed away on Wednesday November 20, 2013 at the Parkview Nursing Home in Muncie. Born October 13, 1916 in Delaware, Indiana, she was the daughter of Albert and Frances (Bateman) Vayhinger. On December 25, 1936, she married Raymond B. Rose in Ripley County. Lois worked at the Madison State Hospital and retired from there after 20 years. Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne Rose of Raleigh, NC; four sons, David (Margaret Todd) Rose of Raleigh, NC, James Rose of Fort Worth, TX, Robert Rose of Muncie and Douglas (Sue Stein) Rose of Brandon, FL. Lois is also survived by two daughters in law, Victoria Rose and Murleen Rose; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond; one son, Arthur Rose; one sister Elinor Hahn; three brothers, Clyde, Charles and Gilbert Vayhinger. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Woodlawn-Vail Funeral Chapel at 117 Holt Drive on Tuesday, November 26th at 1:00pm. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home.
