Linda Lou Samples

In the quietude of Hillcrest Village in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on December 20, 2024, the world lost a radiant soul, Linda Lou Samples, who graced the earth for 68 years. Born on August 16, 1956, in the small town of Scottsburg, Indiana, Linda epitomized kindness and love in her every gesture. A proud graduate of Crothersville High School, class of 1975, she carried with her not just the knowledge of academics, but a profound faith that illuminated her heart and guided her actions.

Linda’s spirit was indelibly marked by her service as a veteran of the United States Navy, a testament to her strength and commitment to her country. Yet it was in her community and within the spiritual realm that Linda truly thrived. Her dedication to her church was unwavering; it was not merely a place of worship but a sanctuary that enveloped her with a sense of belonging. Bible studies enriched her life, and the bonds she forged there became the fabric of her existence—a source of joy and solace in every season.

The tapestry of Linda's life was woven with love for her family and a fierce devotion to those she held dear. Her warm smile and kind-hearted nature radiated positivity, drawing people to her like moths to a flame. She had an innate ability to connect with others, to listen, and to make each person feel valued—a gift that will echo in the hearts of those who knew her.

Linda is mourned by her beloved sister, Wanda Campbell of Seymour, Indiana, who will cherish the memories of their shared laughter and support. She joins in eternal peace with her father, James Samples, her mother, Sopha Spencer Samples, and her brother, Gary David Samples, all of whom have passed before her.

Graveside will be held at 1:30 on Friday, January 3, 2025 at New Albany National Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
