Linda Diann Black Morris, born April 8, 1960 in Columbus, Indiana passed away on Sunday, December 1st, 2024 at University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington. Linda was in Kentucky in July with her friends doing one of the things her and Junior loved to do, side by side riding, when she became ill and was taken to the hospital and later suffered a stroke. She went through many surgeries, treatments and physical therapy sessions only to suffer setback after setback and ultimately her infection was more than she could overcome. She fought hard, but God had a different plan for her.

She was the daughter and third child of Ralph William and Alpha Dean (Barger) Black. She graduated from Seymour High School in 1978 and graduated from Ivy Tech with an associate’s degree. For years, Linda worked alongside her dad at Black’s Market on West Tipton Street. There, she met Ervin “Junior” Morris, Jr. and on January 3rd of 1990 they married. At that time Junior operated Morris Mini Mart and later they worked the mini mart together. After the mini mart was sold, Linda worked for Schneck Medical Center as a greeter for several years and then retired from Rose Acre Farms where she worked in the front office.

Linda and Junior made a home in Freetown, Indiana. She enjoyed camping, side by side riding in Kentucky, traveling with family and the girl trips and spending time with her family. Linda loved cooking and sharing her pizzas, ribs, coleslaw, potato salad and other favorite recipes with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Junior; son Bradley Bowman, his wife Mindy and their daughters Haley and Kayla; her daughter Brandy Rumph and her husband Andy; her step-children Melissa (Mike) Heiny, Ervin Morris III “Tray” (DeeDee), Steve (Kathy) Morris, Jeremy Morris, step-grandchildren, Riley Morris, Garrett Morris, Griffin Morris, Seth (Erica Stearman) Heiny, Ervin Morris IV, Lexi (Blade) McKinney, Gwyneth (Jaylen) Spence, Conner and Oakleigh Morris and great-granddaughter, Riley Kaye Heiny.

Linda is also survived by her three brothers Randall (Lora) Black, Mike (Pam) Black and Dennis (Cindy) Black along with several nieces and nephews, treasured friends and beloved dogs, Oliver and Blue.

Family and friends can call from 11:00am to 2:00pm Saturday, December 7th at Christensen Family Funeral Home. Brothers Jim Morris and Larry Dalton will conduct a funeral service at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Graveside services and burial will take place at the Lucy Angel Cemetery in Buckhorn, KY. at 11:00am on Sunday, December 8th.
