Kenneth Lee Burris, Sr.

Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Burris, Sr. of Seymour, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at IU Health in Indianapolis. Born December 6, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky, Kenny was the son of Albert L. and Alta L. (Strieble) Burris. On November 29, 1980 in Dwight, Illinois, he married Cinda O’Neal.
Kenny worked for R.R. Donnelly in Dwight, Illinois for 19 years before being transferred to Seymour, where he worked another 10 years. He then worked for a few years in the environmental department at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was also a self-employed handyman and enjoyed working on projects both at home and for other people. Kenny also enjoyed cooking and grilling out. He also cherished his time at home with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Cinda; children, Kenneth L. “Kenny” Burris, Jr. of Columbus and Eric and Meta Burris of Jonesville; grandchildren, Vivee and Winston; parents, Albert and Alta Burris of Goshen, Kentucky; mother and father in law, George and Terry O’Neal of Dwight, Illinois; sister in law, Tammy Jameson and (Bernie Kelleher) also of Dwight. Kenny also leaves behind his Jack Russell, Spot.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday April 10, 2016 at the Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM Sunday. Following the services a dinner will be held at the Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Memorials can be made at the funeral home to the Lymphoma Research Foundation or St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
