Kathie Jean Fawbush

Kathie Jean (Ewing) Fawbush, 68, of Scottsburg IN, peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 15 2023 with family by her side at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg IN. Kathie was born in Scottsburg on July 23, 1954 to the late Willis “Bill” Ewing and the late Delores “Ramona” (Hickerson) Ewing, and was a lifelong resident. She married the love of her life, Donnie Fawbush on July 26 1974 and truly loved their marriage of 48 years. Kathie was a graduate of Scottsburg High School Class of l973. She was a dedicated and loving teachers aide.

Kathie loved traveling to Ft. Myers Beach, with Donnie and collecting sea shells and they both loved making homemade pizza together. A Christian by faith, Kathie loved family and friends; her kids; her grandkids; she loved and adored her grandparents and she was an amazing, caring, loving, sweet, precious lover of all people. She was a caregiver to those that needed attention. Kathie loved being “mom” to the kids she worked with-giving of herself and making an impact to everyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, cooking, grilled cabbage, okra and broccoli casserole.

Survivors to treasure her memory is her loving husband Donnie; daughter Amber Dawn Begley & husband JW “Jay” of Scottsburg; son Corey Palmer Fawbush & wife Kimberly of Jeffersonville; grandchildren Jackson Begley, Alec Fawbush, Silas Fawbush, Eleanor Fawbush; and her lifelong best friend of over 60 years and loved as a sister Brenda “BJ’ Bircheat; and granddog Maggie Mae. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents Richard and Minnie Disney.

Pastor Jerry Begley will conduct a Funeral Service Tuesday, February 21, 1pm, at Christensen-Hoagland Family Funeral Home, 80 N 1st St., Scottsburg IN. Friends and Family may visit Monday, February 20 2023, 5pm – 8pm and Tuesday 11am – until time of service at 1pm. Burial will follow the service at Scottsburg Cemetery.
