Judy K. Nolan Stockdale, age 71 of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. Francis Health Campus in Indianapolis. Born September 6, 1944 in Salem, Indiana, she was the daughter of Robert F. and M. Stella (Johnson) Zink. On August 4, 2007 at Trinity Pentecostal Church, Judy married Larry Stockdale.
Judy moved to Seymour from Salem in 1965. Since coming to Seymour, Judy has been an active member of Trinity Pentecostal Church. Judy was retired from Kmart having worked at Seymour and then Columbus. She served Kmart as a personnel and training manager as well as department manager.
After retirement from Kmart, Judy worked for five years as a greeter at Schneck Medical Center and then continued as a volunteer Guild Lady. She also volunteered at the Lutheran Community Home. Judy enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning, and shopping. She was a Kmart blue light shopper for items for items that she would later give away. Judy is remembered as a giver and a rock for her family. She most loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandy (Brad) Gay and Lisa Lawles both of Seymour; grandchildren, Jacob Gay, Rick Lawles, Jr., Carla (Tyler) Sipes; great-grandsons, Cameron and Raiden Lawles. Judy is also survived by one sister, Linda Zink and her husband, David Arndorfer; step-daughters, Della Stevens and her husband Jack King, Charlotte Shale and Jan Stockdale. She also leaves behind several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Judy also is survived by her dogs Jett and Lilly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Stockdale; her daughter, Carol Jean “Jeanie” Nolan; her son in law Rick Lawles; her sisters, Margaret McDonald and Barbara Bryant; her brothers, Boyd Zink, R. Eugene Zink, Charles Wayne Zink and Billy Joe Zink.
Brother Larry Dalton will conduct funeral services at 11:00am on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and from 10:00am Saturday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorials can be made at the funeral home to the Trinity Pentecostal Church or Red Sky Animal Rescue.
