Jorge Montejo

Jorge Montejo, age 81 of Seymour, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Schneck Medical Center. Born on October 30, 1937 in Mexicali, Mexico, he was the son of Arturo Montejo Pulido and Dolores Favela Zazueta.

Jorge was retired pressmen and Union Shop Steward for the San Clarita Daily News in California. He attended St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching wrestling and collecting coins and miniature toys. He was a giving man always contributing to local organization, law enforcements and the military. He was proud of his United States citizenship and proud of the American Flag. Jorge loved spending time with his family and his dogs.

Survivors include his children, Arturo Montejo, Maria (Keith) Camp all of Seymour, Lourdes (Javier) Mendoza of Indianapolis and James (Annette) Montejo of Whittier, California; grandchildren, Troy(Mindy) Camp, Alex Camp, Jasmine (Temo) Gomez, Leticia Montejo, Richard Montejo, David Gandarilla, Michael Camp and Starr (Mark) Ritter; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Alexzandera, Abel, Isaiah, Isaac, Naomi and Sophia; Jorge also leaves behind his beloved dog Rocky and several nieces and nephews.

Jorge was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Alicia Pineda Montejo whom he married on March 10, 1962 and who passed on August 4, 2017; his brothers, Carlos Montejo Favela, Jose Luis Montejo Favela, Fernando German Montejo Favela and his fur baby Soldier.

Pastor Johnnie Spivey will conduct services at 1:00pm Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Visitation will be Sunday, November 25th from 2:00pm until 5:00pm and then on Monday from 12:00pm until service time all at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service at The Cornerstone Community Church.

At the time of his death Jorge chose to be a donor to help burn victims and cancer patients. In honor of Jorge Montejo memorials can be made to The Indiana Donor Network, Cornerstone Community Churcch or Hospice of Schneck Medical Center.
