Jonathan Daniel Roth

Jonathan Daniel Roth, age 57, beloved, son, brother, left this world on September 27, 2024 unexpectedly at the Schneck Medical Center in Seymour Indiana. Born on February 17, 1967, in Bristol, Connecticut. 

Jonathan lived a life filled with unwavering dedication, having worked for more than 39 years at Kroger, now known as Jay C Food Store, on the east side of Seymour. His tireless commitment to his job was paralleled only by his deep-seated faith as a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, where he found community and solace.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Jonathan will forever remember his incredible spirit, characterized by a “never give up” attitude. He possessed an innate talent for uplifting those around him, frequently taking the time to look out for the underdog, showering them with love, encouragement, and the reassurance they needed to thrive. Jonathan's caring, compassionate nature, often intertwined with humor, made him a joy to be around. With a heart of gold, he touched the lives of many with his generosity, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.

A proud 1985 graduate of Seymour High School, Jonathan was also a passionate Chicago Cubs fan, who delighted in collecting comic books, exploring exhilarating realms through gaming, and immersing himself in the adventures within Sci-Fi literature. These pastimes brought him joy and served as a perfect outlet for his imagination.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 23 years, Debbie (Gregory) Roth, who provided him with love and support through every season of life. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Joan (Ginter) Roth; his brother, Brian Roth; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who were fortunate enough to share in his warmth and kindness.

In honoring Jonathan’s life, we invite family and friends to join us for visitation on October 2, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both taking place at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 605 South Walnut Street in Seymour, Indiana. He will be laid to rest at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

As we gather to celebrate Jonathan’s life, let us hold dear the memory of a remarkable man whose legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith continues to inspire us all. Jonathan Daniel Roth will be missed deeply, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched.
