John W. Lynch

John W. Lynch, age 81 of Seymour, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Schneck Medical Center. Born February 16, 1933 in Morgan County, Indiana, he was the son of William and Mabel (Simpson) Lynch. On December 31, 1952 in Seymour, he married Donna Lee Donnells. Prior to serving in the U.S. Army, John worked as a shipping clerk at Graessle-Mercer Company. He was a 29 year member of the American Legion Post 89 and was also a 12 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 655 and a former member of the Elks Club. Retired from Cummins, John was an avid golfer, he also enjoyed to fish and in earlier years enjoyed hunting as well as play and coach softball. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna; daughter Joni Lynch of Seymour; sister, Marjorie Lynch of Indianapolis and sister-in-law, Luwanna Followell of Seymour. He also had several nieces and nephews who survive. John was preceded in death by his parents, son Jon Raymond who passed on March 12, 2011. He was also preceded by five brothers and five sisters. Pastor Van Breeding will conduct services at 2:00pm on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre at 311 Holiday Sq. Rd. in Seymour. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Don & Dana Cancer Center through the funeral home.
