John R. Schrink

John R. Schrink, age 79 of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at his home. Born December 16, 1937 in Seymour, he was the son of Louis P. Sr. and Mary Jane (Engelking) Schrink. On November 19, 1976 in Austin, John married Shirley Babbs.

John retired in 1987 from Cummins after 30 years where he worked as an engineer. He was a member of the Eagles and the Surprise Christian Church. In his spare time, John enjoyed watching IU Basketball, the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts football and loved playing golf. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, brother, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Shirley; step-daughter, Stephanie Coomer of Scottsburg; brother, Tony Schrink; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carol Schrink and Patricia Schrink. John also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; children, Jim Schrink and Mary “Missy” Schrink; and brothers, Joseph and Louis “Pat” Schrink.
