John Gaffney

John Wesley Gaffney Sr., age 80, a lifelong resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
John was born on September 27, 1939 and was the son of Alfred Gaffney and the Ethel (England) Gaffney.
He was a charter member of The Point. His family was instrumental in bringing First Church of The Nazarene to Seymour. John loved playing video games, working on cars and making improvements to his home. He was a true “Family Man” and had a wonderful sense of humor. John always looked for the brighter side of things and always wore a smile. He never met a stranger and simply put, “everyone that knew him, loved him”.
John is survived by his loving wife of over 42 years, Robin Hart Gaffney; his son, Evan Gaffney and his wife Renae of Crothersville, Indiana; his daughter Heidi Teagarden of Denver, Colorado; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, John “Jay” Gaffney Jr.; his two daughters, Amber Mikels and Autumn Stump; one brother, Alfred Gaffney and two sisters, Betty Quillen and Wilma Quillen.
Visitation will be held on Monday September 21, 2020 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre in Seymour, Indiana. Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre in Seymour, Indiana with Pastor Steve Barrett officiating.
