Joetta June Wayman Clampitt, age 85, a radiant soul whose kindness and optimism touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, Indiana. Born on February 14, 1940, in the heart of Brownstown, Indiana, Joetta was destined to spread joy and warmth throughout her life.
A proud graduate of Brownstown High School, class of 1958, Joetta embarked on a fulfilling career in banking, where she made her mark at Citizens Bank and later at Old National Bank. Her professional journey was not just about numbers and transactions; it was about the relationships she forged and the kindness she extended to everyone who walked through her doors.
Joetta's personality shined brightly as she embodied the spirit of kindness. With an infectious optimism, she embraced life with an open heart and a welcoming smile. Her family was her greatest treasure, a source of immense joy that she cherished dearly. Whether surrounded by loved ones or working diligently on her jigsaw puzzles, Joetta found happiness in the simple moments.
Surrounded by her loving family during her final hours, Joetta leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her adoring husband of 12 years, Albert Clampitt of Seymour, along with three step-sons: Will Bohm and his wife Jackie of Georgia, Dan Bohm and his wife Lori of Seymour, Indiana, and Kenny Clampitt of Indiana. Joetta also leaves behind three devoted step-daughters: Betty Ann Bohm of Seymour, Sharon Bowers and her husband Claude of Medora, and Bonnie England and her husband Kenny of Medora. Her bond with her sister, Sue Peters and her husband Eugene of Brownstown, remains a testament to their lifelong support for one another. She is also survived by her step daughter in law, Becky Bohm. The joy in her life was amplified by the presence of several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forth her spirit of love.
Joetta is predeceased by her beloved parents, Edmond Wayman and Edith Dawson Wayman, and by her husband, William Bohm, who shared 11 wonderful years. She was also predeceased by her step son, Ray Bohm.
A graveside service in celebration of Joetta’s remarkable life will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown, Indiana, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. As we gather to pay our respects, we are reminded of the love and joy she brought into our lives—a luminous legacy that will forever remain etched in our hearts.
