Jimmy Deaton

Jimmy Deaton, a man known for his love of the road and his trusty 1988 Mustang, departed this world on August 7, 2024, at his residence in North Vernon, Indiana. Born on February 1, 1956, he left behind a legacy that will be remembered with fondness and laughter.

Jimmy's life was anything but ordinary. As dedicated truck driver for over 40 years, he traversed countless miles, always eager to explore new horizons share his trucking tales with anyone willing to listen. He had a zest for life, whether he was on the dance floor or behind the wheel of his beloved Mustang, Jimmy knew how to bring joy to those around him.

In addition to his enjoyment for trucking and dancing, Jimmy was a man of faith whose spirit shone bright. His personality made him a favorite among friends and family alike. Everyone who knew him could attest to his fun-loving nature and magnetic charm.

Jimmy's departure has left a void in the lives of his loved ones. Among the deceased family and friends welcoming him beyond this life are his father Harlan Deaton, mother Edna (Vires) Deaton, brother James Deaton, sister Genevieve Martin, and sister Sandra Kaye Johnson. With his passing, a chapter closes, but the memories he created will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Among those who will carry on his legacy are his son, Robert O'Sullivan of Crothersville, Indiana, his brother Tommy Deaton and wife Vanda of Kentucky, his sister Patricia Deaton of North Vernon, Indiana, as well as his grandsons, Conner and Logen O'Sullivan.

As we bid farewell to Jimmy Deaton, let us remember him not with tears, but with smiles, for he would want us to celebrate the life he lived to the fullest. May his journey onward be as vibrant and colorful as the stories he left behind. Rest in peace, Jimmy. Your road may have ended here, but your memories will continue to drive on.

The family has chosen cremation. The celebration of life will be held on September 28, 2024 from 11:00am-7:00pm at The Gathering Place in Austin, Indiana.
