Janet Sue (Johnson) Ross, age 74, a native of Seymour, Indiana and a resident of Scipio, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 22, 1948 to the late Warren Johnson and the late Georgia (Ault) Johnson - Hoaks. Janet was a member of the Hayden United Methodist Church. She will forever be remembered as a loving, caring, strong lady that loved everybody. She enjoyed being "hostess and cook", to any and all that would come to her house. She had the gift of hospitality, if you came to Janet's home, you would always leave full. When she cooked she cooked for an army. She enjoyed square dancing, golf and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and friend to many and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and each life that she touched in her own special way.
She is survived by her beloved husband of over 55 years, Larry Ross Sr. of Seymour, Indiana, two sons, Larry "Gus" Ross Jr. and his wife April of Hayden, Indiana and Jeff O. Ross and his partner Christina Bloom of Seymour, Indiana. Two daughters, Betty Estes of Scipio, Indiana and MIssie Estes and her Fiancé Devin Wilson of Gilbert, AZ. One sister, Elverna Cummings of Seymour, Indiana. Sister in law, Jenny Campbell. Eight grandchildren, Justin Estes and his wife Chelsea, Alyssa Strong and her husband Kyle, Kristin Estes, Warren Ross, Markie Clark and his wife Laura, Jessica Ross and her Fiancé Tyler Peters, Jackson Ross, Janzen Higgins and his wife Madison. Twenty - three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Steven Johnson and Lonnie Johnson, one sister, Cheryl Moore and one grandson, Ryan "Joe" Ross.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Aaron Arrowood officiating. She will be laid to rest at Hayden Cemetery.
