James Dorsey Weesner Jr., a brother, uncle, and friend, departed this life on November 23, 2024, at Envive Healthcare in Anderson, Indiana, just days shy of his 67th birthday. Born on November 29, 1957, in Wabash, Indiana.
A proud graduate of Brownstown High School in 1976, James continued his educational journey by earning a degree from Mid America College of Funeral Service in 1981. His career was shaped by a genuine desire to provide comfort to others, a testament to his soft heart that was always open to helping those around him despite his personal failings or shortcomings.
To know James was to know laughter; he possessed an infectious sense of humor that could light up a room and uplift spirits during difficult moments. His quick wit made him a cherished companion among family and friends. He had an innate ability to see the bright side of life.
James is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Kathleen Heiwig and her husband Douglas of Homosassa, Florida, and Karen "Jody" Hall of Brownstown, Indiana. His love extended to his family, including his aunt Becky Lavengood of Kokomo, Indiana; nephews Mark Stewart with his wife Kate of Kensington, Maryland, Johnathan Hall with his wife Kelsey of Freetown, Indiana; nieces Jody Dale Hobein with her husband Eric of Beverly Hills, Florida, and Chelsie Skurka with her husband Cameron of Columbus, Indiana. He also leaves behind two step-nephews, Daniel and Brian Heiwig, and a step-niece, Tiffany O'Connell with her husband Tom, alongside five great nephews—Kaden Hobein, Mason Hoebin, Miles Hall, Nicholas Stewart, and Emmitt Skurka—as well as two great nieces, Jolene and Lydia Hobein. His legacy continues through numerous great-great nephews and nieces, cousins, and a circle of friends who will forever cherish the memories shared.
James was predeceased by his father, James Dorsey Weesner Sr., and mother, Betty Coon Weesner. He was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Daniel Hall and Dale Pennington, who welcomed him with open arms in the embrace of eternity.
A visitation honoring his life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, all at the Christensen Family Funeral Home - Winklepleck Chapel in Brownstown, Indiana. He will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery immediately following funeral services.
It was the desire of Jim that he be remembered for the good he did in life and the people he helped when they needed him during hard times and that people would find it in their hearts to forgive and love each in this life that we are blessed to live.
