James Everett Stivers

September 27, 1945 — July 4, 2014

James Everett Stivers, age 68 of Brownstown, Indiana and formerly of Leitchfield, KY, passed away on Friday, July 4th at 5:05am. Born September 27, 1945 in Cynthiana, Kentucky, he was the son of the former John Frances and Flossie E. Melvina (Whirles) Stivers. Jim was employed as Plant Manager of Leggett & Platt in Leitchfield, KY until 2003. He then continued as an Independent Consultant for Creative Manufacturing Solutions in China. Most recently, he was employed as Executive Vice President and General Manager at Indiana Steel & Tube. Survivors include his three sons, Jim Stivers, Jr., Jeremy Lawson and Seth Lawson; four daughters, Lacie Davis, Cherie Stivers, Hollie Stivers and Sarah Baker; one sister, Peggy Pennington. Jim also had 18 grandchildren and was survived by his former wife and companion, Betty Bradshaw. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Snapp; a brother John Henry Stivers and a sister, Dorothy Hopkins. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 12th from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at the Caneyville Christian Church, 218 S. Main Street Caneyville, KY 42721. A memorial service will begin at 4:00pm at the church.
