Jack Quincy Scott, 93, of Seymour, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020, at his home. Mr. Scott was born September 19, 1926, in Anderson, Indiana to Samuel Joseph and Eva Ann Eads Scott.
Mr. Scott enjoyed gardening, reading, bowling, carpentry and spending time with his dogs. He enlisted in the US Navy at the early age of 14 and served 2 years before his age was discovered and he had to choose another branch of service. While in the Navy, Jack served in World War II and was a feather weight boxer at the Golden Gloves in Chicago. Jack's second choice was the US Army where he served his country for another 6 years and was a Korean War Veteran.
Jack married the former Inez H. Wheldon on August 27, 1951. He was employed with Essex Wire of Marion, Indiana as a foreman. He was also a former member of VFW 1925.
Mr. Scott is survived by two daughters, Shirley L. Guzman and Phyllis A. Scott, one son, Michael L. Scott, four grandchildren, granddaughter, Michelle A. Scott, grandson, Jason R. Sprong and great grandchildren, Makayla L. Blanden and Blake A. Sprong, grandson Charles M. (Stella E.) Guzman, great granddaughter, Arizona H. Guzman, granddaughter, Melissa Guzman (Matthew R.) Groenewold and great grandson, Levi R. Groenewold.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Inez H. Whelden Scott, three brothers, Richard, Jim, and Bill Scott and one sister, Virginia Wiggins.
Memorials may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society or VFW 1925.
