Helen M. Dean

Helen M. (Hatfield) Dean, age 83, of Vevay, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, November, 7, 2013 at her residence. Born January 23, 1930 in Harland County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Lilly (Stiens) Hatfield, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Otis Hatfield; a daughter, Debbie Spurlock and a grandson, Jason Spurlock. Mrs. Dean retired after eighteen years of service as a line supervisor from Avon in Springdale, Ohio. She was a member of the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Vevay, where she also played the organ for several years. Survivors include two daughters, Jennie Rose Burkhart of Harland, KY and Pam Burk of Vevay, IN; one sister, Betty Lewellyn of Hamilton, OH; one brother, Sidney Hatfield of Fairfield, OH; two grandchildren, Leslie Spurlock Cochran and Joseph Spurlock and several nieces and nephews. The family has chosen cremation and burial will be at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
